Hello There!

An introduction to Games & Stuff

Welcome, fellow human!

I've been reflecting on my social media journey and how, now in my 30s, I wish I had been more discerning about tying my real-life and professional identity to the online one I use for conversation.

Sometimes, I want to participate in a conversation and share an alternative perspective, but I find myself holding back. Even though I may not be representing my job, future business, or anyone other than myself, it could backfire.

To prevent the worst possible assumptions about what I want separate from my professional identity, here's an example: I desperately want to share about games I tried that didn't live up to the hype. Especially when so many games are hyped or recommended by short-form content creators promoting them based on aesthetics alone. I'm not referring to influencer marketing campaigns where creators are paid to promote a game.

But as a first-time game developer and general professional within the games industry, that type of commentary doesn't feel appropriate.

It's not even that I've tried and disliked that many games. Having been a gamer for over thirty years now, I'm quite good at picking games for myself. However, engaging in that discussion still wouldn't feel appropriate. That's at least my opinion.

But I do find myself feeling at a loss about where to share my perspective, insights, and journey (when I feel compelled to share). This has led me to creating this blog.

From this blog, you can expect:
  • Inconsistency in posting—I'm not trying to make a living off content creation… I just simply want to share.

  • Video Games — what I like, love, & look forward to

  • My journey as a game developer

  • Content Creation — minimally

  • Social Impact — mostly as a repository for my older content

  • Camping — Mostly just updating my gear list

  • Content Recommendations—Books, Movies, Podcasts, & (YES!) Other Creators

  • The occasional random thing that might seem out of place
